Street lights fade out when you laugh,

the world falls into silence when you talk,

my hair is nicer when you mess it up,

coffee tastes better when i have it with you.

 

You:

You walk into the room and suddenly it’s eden,

you drive through the night singing along 

(to songs I have never heard before,)

you hold my hand and I think to myself:

“how can I be home when I’m this far away?”

 

I:

Your perfume is all over my pillow,

I kiss it day and night,

I kiss it awake and asleep,

I love you, conscious and unconscious.
