June: An Ode to The Sun

Sweet summer breeze slipping through the window,

the sun slowly rising, she doesn’t rush her glory,

and neither should you.

It’s not that bad to lay down for a bit, a constant fight is not living,

a little of bit of nothing is good every now and then.

We forget to love what we are used to, it doesn’t occur to us, that we might lose our “normal”, the things we don’t even think about, the old clock hanging in the living room suddenly stopping,

a familiar face taken from our lives.

We look up to the stars at night and marvel at their beauty

but shield our eyes from the one closest to us, the one that keep us warm and light our world, the one waking us up every time she rises and kissing us goodnight each time she sets. Yet, we hide away from her, we only seek her light when it is too dark, we only search for her warmth

when it is too cold. We never love her without needs.
